Powder Keg Stormriders Ambassador

Tasmania has a new sound – and it’s loud, raw, and ready to set stages on fire.

Meet Powderkeg, the four-piece alt-rock/grunge machine taking over Aussie music culture with their high-energy gigs, genre-bending sound, and an attitude that screams pure chaos in the best way possible.

Fresh off the release of their debut EP Dog Eat Dog and the follow-up single Kingdom, the band is constantly dropping new music while dominating festivals like Altar, Party in the Paddock, and Great Escape.

If you haven’t been in a crowd screaming along to STOMP or Corner Street yet, are you even in the scene?

Now, as Stormriders ambassadors, Powderkeg is making waves beyond the stage.

Their partnership with the brand grew naturally after frontman Archer Richardson worked at the Stormriders Hobart store opening, vibing hard with their surf/skate/street energy.

With their love for live music, independent hustle, and just doing whatever feels right, Stormriders x Powderkeg is the ultimate crossover.

We sat down for a quickfire chat with the band to get the real Powderkeg experience.

Where did the name Powderkeg come from?
Band: "First few gigs we didn’t have a name, till one day when we were jamming in the drummer’s room we looked to the wall of ideas (wall full of surf posters & babes) and there it was… POWDERKEG."

 Archer: "Twisted Line."

Will: "The Grand Poobah."

Milo: "Altar Bar in Hobart."

Toby: "Can’t go past a house party!"
